Healthcare for the Next Century – November 14, 2003

Chiropractic is truly healthcare as we have seen from the previous articles. Chiropractors don't just treat symptoms but find the cause of problems.

The most effective way to utilize chiropractic is to use it has a preventative. Unfortunately, we are not taught to check our spines, although most of us know that we need to get our teeth checked every six months and go to the doctor for our yearly physicals. If we were only concerned with our spines as half as much as our cars, the state of the health of the world would be completely different.

To give an example, if the check engine light in a person's car came on, that person will probably take the car in to get checked right away, yet millions of people ignore the simple "warning light" of headaches, back pain, frequent colds etc.

Fortunately, people are starting to see that if they don't take their health into their own hands, problems are sure to follow. Using chiropractic as a preventative rather than emergency care is the concept that will lead chiropractic into the next century as the healthcare of choice. Medical science has always been about sick care, but chiropractic is about what causes health. Thanks for reading and good health to all.
