Park in the front parking if you arrive by 8AM or in the parking garage from the north end

Tract 1- "The Facts about the Insurance Game" - Steve Clemens, BA, CIC
By the end of this session, participants will understand the basic structure of a liability insurance policy for personal trainers. You will also learn the difference between General and Professional Liability, and the importance of utilizing an appropriate health/medical history screening questionnaire.
Tract 2- "Kinesio Taping Fundamentals" - Sally Lyons, MS, PT, AFP and Amy Stahl, MS, PT
Introduction and demonstration of Kinesio Taping, a method of treatment for muscular disorders and lymphodema reduction. Session will include various application skills, cutting techniques and clinical applications. Developed 30 years ago in Japan by Dr. Kenzo Kase, DC, Kinesio Taping has become the standard for therapeutic taping. Introduced in the United States in 1995 many practitioners have recognized and embraced it as the latest advance within the Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation fields and Chiropractic medicine.

Tract 1- "Recognizing and Avoiding Legal Liability" - Carrie Morrow, MBA, JD, CSCS, AFP
Attendees going to this session will be able to understand the basic components of risk management, learn how to recognize potential liability issues and learn how to avoid potential lawsuits. This will apply both to fitness center managers and personal trainers.
Tract 2- "The Use of Aromatherapy in Sports Medicine" - Laraine Kyle, RN, MSN, CS, CMT
Essential oils have a role in preparing the musculo-skeletal system for optimum sports performance as well as post-exertion recovery. Care of injuries, including pain syndromes, can also be aided through topical uses of essential oils. This experiential workshop will examine selected essential oils and carriers that are well suited for the care of muscles and joints for those enjoying an active lifestyle.

Tract 1- "Integrating Fitness Therapy with Physical Therapy," Glenn Streeter, BS, ATC, CES, AFP
Glenn is a veteran presenter to the fitness industry. As an Accredited Fitness Professional (AFP), he has gained valuable insight in working with both the referring physician and the referring Physical Therapist. This session will outline the details of transitioning a patient from physical therapy to fitness therapy as well as identifying the pros and cons of working with medical referrals and insurance reimbursement.
Tract 2- "Trusting Your Cravings" - Jennifer Workman, MS, RD
Your nutritional cravings are messages from your body telling you what you need. Learn what cravings really mean and how to satisfy them with better foods, without "giving in" to the cravings. By combining the principles of Western Sports and Medical Nutrition as well as Ayurveda, you will gain an understanding of the five element theory and the six tastes. This will give you and your clients insights into how to maximize health and digestion, burn body fat and still satisfy cravings. Create a lifestyle not a diet.

Tract 1- "Effective Use of Health/Fitness Assessment Procedures and Progress Reports for the Referring Medical Professionals" - Frank Fristensky, MA, AAHFP, CIAR, AFP
Effective communication with physicians, chiropractors and physical therapists is a must if you plan on getting referrals from medical professionals. This session will cover the importance of health/fitness testing procedures and to develop a progress report for the referring medical professional.
Tract 2- "Aerobic versus Anaerobic Exercise" - Gary Arbuckle, DC
What the two types of exercise are, and how they effect the body, such as holding Chiropractic adjustments, fat metabolism and inflammation. Learn how the body can be tested for the level of need for both kinds of exercise: deficient, balanced or in excess. Will include a live demonstration of how easy and effective it will be.

Tract 1- "Principles of Conditioning for Systemic and Orthopedic Conditions" - Eric Prager, BS, CSCS, AFP
Eric is an Accredited Fitness Professional (AFP) and the owner/manager of the only nationally accredited medical fitness center in the state of New York. He has an extensive background in working with special populations and writing exercise prescriptions for referrals with clinically diagnosed conditions. Eric will also provide information on training for muscle isolation versus training for muscle movement and how it relates to systemic and orthopedic conditions.
Tract 2- "Biological Terrain Assessment" - Char Leberer, CMT, CN, ND
You will learn the what Biological Terrain Assessment is, and how it relates to enzyme therapy. The chief consultant for Nutrition for Life, and Director of the Nutrition Therapy Institute of Colorado, Char Leberer will describe BTA, which gives body pH, the indicator of (1) how enzymes can function optimally or are rendered inactive in the body, 2) mineralization, 3) oxidative stress, and (4) degeneration in cells. BTA gives the ability to increase health and support anti-aging.
